Hey Parents!
How have you been doing? No, really. I'm really asking because I care. How are you? How's the temperature of your home? What about your marriage? How is your relationship with each of your children? How are you doing with the Lord?
The past year I've learned to slow down my pace (See post here) and truly lean into Jesus for strength, peace, and comfort. I've been learning how to accept the Holy Spirit as my companion. A slow pace doesn't scare me like it used to. I find myself much more grateful for this life and everyone in it.
Okay, let's cut to one of the most challenging things you may be facing right now- schooling your children. Many of you are probably homeschool families, and that is awesome! But for those of us who have children in a public or private school, you may be feeling panic rising with all this COVID-19 news and cancellations all over the country. Take a deep breath, friend. As long as there's Jesus, there's peace.
I left my preschool classroom decorated with dinosaurs, volcanoes, fossils, and paleontologist costumes. We were right in the middle of our dinosaur unit when school was cancelled due to preventing the spread of Corona. We teachers had to get creative! So, I typed up a week of dinosaur lesson plans complete with a Bible lesson, project, gross motor activities, songs, chants, and reading. I wanted to make these plans available to you. Just print them off my Teachers Pay Teachers site and have fun with it! Don't think you have to do everything in these plans. Just pick and choose what your child likes or what you feel confident trying, and enjoy watching their little faces light up as they learn and play and are creative. You can get the plans for FREE here.
Also, my children have been excellent sports and have helped me upload some fun videos for my preschoolers. If you have some time on your hands, check out our YouTube page and subscribe. There are some creative home "movies" on the channel, too!
